About

Hi, I'm Jenny.

I'm a fullstack developer looking for a fulltime position in NYC.

Before starting to program, I got a double-major in Psychology and Art history from Columbia University, and worked in client-facing market research and advertising roles. I became increasingly drawn to the more technical aspects of my positions such as Excel and SQL, and began to code on the side.

In March 2017, I quit my job and became a fulltime student at Fullstack Academy, an 3-month intensive JavaScript bootcamp in NYC.

After finishing the program, I was hired on as a teaching fellow at the bootcamp, where I help current students learn how to code.

In my free time, I enjoy playing guitar, going to museums, and walking the earth.

Projects

Yak Language Learner

A Spanish-learning app created with React and Redux. Users input a list of newline-separated Spanish words, and the app dynamically generates flashcards with definitions, examples, and lexical information. From there, users can select the definitions and examples they find most helpful to appear on their flashcards.

Dime

A personal finance app created with React Native, Expo, D3, Firebase, Google Vision API, and Keras.js. Users can input spend by taking a picture of their receipts, scanning barcodes, and manually inputting purchases. Dime takes this data and uses machine learning to predict future spend.
